Head 2 Head - Website, Flash, PHP, and More Templates
In this section of the blog I will be posting and taking on the challenge of recreating some free, paid for, and popular tempaltes out there on the web today. As with any challenge there has to be some rules, so I will lay those out for myself here.
- All templates must orginate from somewhere on the web or be submitted by a visitor
- I must recreate the templates without looking at the source code of the templates to see how they were origionally constructed.
- I can use any graphics or fonts supplied with the templates in the construction of my template, but I may choose to use new graphics as long as the layout and overall look is not affected.
- I must use HTML 4.01 Strict Design for all templates I construct and must use the latest in Dojo Frameworks to build or add functionality to a template I am challenging.
- I must ensure that the new template is within current SEO best practice policies.
- I will post the template I am competing with and then will have 1 week (7 days) from the time I post the challenger to complete my version of the template, I will post what I have on the 7th regardless of the completion of it.
This challenge is for fun, it is a means of challenging myself to be creative and be quick in developing sites. It does not reflect on the whole sum of my skills and sometimes I will fail the challenge(what fun would it be if I didnt fail). From failure comes learning, from success less so. First Round - 9/5/2008
The Halo Template, I found this template while looking through some free templates on Free Website Templates.com. Seeing as Halo was one of my favorite games on the xBox, I decided to give it a shot. I will be posting my progress on the Head2head page for this match.
